In Sawan, you will see delicious and wonderful Ghevar being made at every sweet shop. Although Ghevar of Rajasthan is very famous. But in Farrukhabad district too, the markets have become buzzing with the fragrance of Ghevar. Here the sweet makers are busy making it. People come from far and wide to buy sweets from this shop.

Farrukhabad’s special Ghevar
Ram Kumar Pandey, a resident of Ghumna Bazaar in Farrukhabad, says that his shop is 20 years old. He started making Ghevar at his shop. Since then, his Ghevar is famous. He prepares special Ghevar with about five types of flavors. When he started making Ghevar, it used to be sold at the rate of just Rs 100 per kg. Even today, the taste of his Ghevar remains the same. Currently, he sells it at the rate of Rs 280 per kg.

There’s a line to buy
Shopkeeper Ramkumar Pandey says that because of his Ghevar being famous, it is sold in the district as well as in the surrounding areas and even in Mumbai. His method of making it is different, due to which his Ghevar tastes different and it is sold in a queue. The shopkeeper says that to make Ghevar, he prepares the base after pouring this mixture in the moulds 40 to 50 times for about half an hour.

Recipe for making Ghevar
Shopkeepers tell that to make Ghevar you should have a liquid mixture of milk, flour, refined, desi ghee. After this, the paste of Ghevar is prepared with the help of a big pan and molds. For this, this mixture is put in highly heated oil and cooked. When it is ready to fill with ghee, then a special cream made from milk and a mixture of pistachios as well as various dry fruits is poured on it.
