In American society, extramarital affairs are considered very common. There is no delay in converting one night’s meeting into physical love, neither the husband nor the wife seems to be putting in any special effort to keep faith in the institution called marriage for a long time. It is not that the whole of America is like this, but it is unfortunate that in the name of materialistic society, importance is given to the use of relationships and the new tradition of saving things. The crime is so easy because there is no law controlling the sale of guns. When economic inequality is so widespread, new excuses are found to commit crimes. On the other hand, even if everything is easily available, people do not believe in permanent and stable relationships but part time physical pleasure. without fear of anyone. regardless of anyone. The lack of morality is also clearly visible in American films. The reasons for infidelity or cheating are of very small and worthless nature. Suffers is the one who does not commit cheating or infidelity.
Recently a film called ‘A Weekend Away’ has been released on Netflix, in which two friends meet for a weekend in Croatia, go to a party and then one of them disappears. On complaining to the police, the police arrests the other friend on the basis of suspicion. After a little investigation, the matter comes to the fore and the real culprit is caught. In this film, the crime takes place in the first 10 minutes and the fans of watching such films or the viewers of Crime Patrol can also tell who will be the real culprit, but in this fast-paced film, the conspiracy is revealed at the very end. Is. This disclosure is the weakness of this film. The film is simple. Viewers start getting bored after a while, and despite being a “Crime of Passion” there is no sex scene in it so viewers might feel cheated.
Leighton Meester stars in the film A Weekend Away. Due to his role in the American TV serial “Gossip Girls”, Layton has performed well. However, it bothers the audience that in such films, the audience understands who the real culprit is, but why does it take so long for the heroine to come to know everything clearly. Christina Wolfe’s role is small but she is quite glamorous and it is a pleasure to watch her on screen. Ziad Bakri impresses as the Croatian taxi driver while Luke Norris as Rob doesn’t impress at all.
This film is written by Sarah Alderson which is based on one of her successful novel “A Weekend Away”. One special thing in Sarah’s life is that in 2010 she decided to leave her job with her husband and travel the world with her 3-year-old daughter. Actually Sarah was looking for a place where she could settle her family away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sarah sometimes used to go to other countries for weekend holidays with her friends. Sarah had composed this novel keeping in mind the journey of these holidays. The events of the novel are his brainchild, but when it was seen as a film, the story seemed weak. The sudden disappearance of your co-traveller in another country can turn your whole life upside down but its intensity was not felt in the movie. Not knowing the language, not understanding the police and the law, searching for someone in a completely unknown city and country, trusting an unknown person, all this is not as easy as shown. In order to keep the duration short, the scenes of the heroine being helpless have not been filmed prominently.
There was no possibility visible in the story of ‘A Weekend Away’ itself. That’s why it is useless to have any kind of expectation about the film. If you want to watch the film according to the time pass, watch it but you will be disappointed.
