Aadhar card has become a big need of today’s times. Many times the card holder has to make amendments in his photo, address, name etc., in such a situation, with the help of the registered mobile number, amendments related to name, address etc. can be done online by visiting the UIDAI website, but for amendment in the photo, the nearest Corrections have to be made by going to the enrollment centre.
You can only update your demographic information online. These include your name, address, date of birth, gender, cellphone number and email. You will have to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center to update your biometric information (fingerprints, iris and photo). No supporting documents are required to update the photo of Aadhar card. Processing may take up to 90 days.
How to update photo in Aadhar card
- Step 1: Go to the official website of UIDAI and search for the enrollment center.
- Step 2: Go to the enrollment center and take the enrollment form. You can also download the form by visiting the official website of UIDAI.
- Step 3: Fill the relevant details on the form.
- Step 4: Provide the form and give biometric details.
- Step 5: You will be given a slip on which the Update Request Number (URN) will be mentioned. You can check the status of your request using URN.

- At present you cannot update the photo on Aadhar card online.
- To update your photo on your Aadhaar card, you do not need to submit any supporting documents. Just bring your Aadhaar card and visit the nearest Aadhaar centre.
- Free correction form is available to upgrade photo on Aadhaar card.
- There is no need to submit any document to change the photo on Aadhar card.
- The status of Aadhar card can be checked with the help of URN.
