Compensation is given when a building collapses
If a laborer is working in a building under construction and suddenly the building collapses and the laborer dies, then there is a provision to give compensation to the laborer. This compensation is given by the government on some occasions. On some occasions, the owner of the building has to give compensation to the family of the laborer. Along with this, if complete information about the building owner is not available, then it becomes the responsibility of the contractor working with the laborer to give compensation.
Insurance is also available
If the owner of a building under construction has got his building insured by Avni Property, then in such a situation if that building is damaged, he gets insurance. If a laborer dies due to the collapse of that building, then that laborer also gets the benefit of insurance. If a laborer has taken his own personal life insurance, then he can also get insurance from the insurance company after his death in accidents like building collapse.
Compensation can also be obtained from ESI
All the registered companies in India, whether it is a construction company or not, all the workers working in them have a PF account. The companies which have registered with ESI i.e. Employee State Insurance, but have gone bankrupt, in such a situation, compensation is received from ESI i.e. Employee State Insurance on the death of the worker.
