A 20-year-old girl from Chowk had gone to meet her cousin near Lohia Park on Wednesday morning at around 7:30. Then a rogue followed her and tried to talk to her. When she resisted, he threw acid on her. Due to this, the girl and her brother got burnt. The police surveillance team arrested Abhishek in an encounter near Gulala Ghat late at night. During interrogation, it was found that Abhishek and the girl’s cousin are friends. Both are residents of Lakhimpur.
Bought six sims, made calls from all
DCP West Durgesh Kumar said that six SIM cards were recovered from the accused. He had taken SIM cards on different IDs. As soon as the student blocked one of his numbers, he started calling and sending messages from another. At this, the student blocked all these numbers. Abhishek said, when the student did not respond, he became angry. He hatched a conspiracy two days ago. He was just waiting for an opportunity. On Wednesday morning, he reached near the student’s house. As soon as she left, he followed her and reached Lohia Park. According to the police, the call details and the messages sent are important evidence.

According to the police, one bottle of concentrated sulfuric acid and one bottle of hydrogen peroxide solution was recovered from Abhishek. He mixed both of them and filled them in a third bottle and attacked. He has not told till now where he got the acid. According to sources, he got the acid from a lab. The police is investigating this.
Discharged from hospital, sent to jail
The accused was admitted to the trauma centre after he was shot in the right leg in the encounter. ACP Chowk Rajkumar Singh said that he was discharged on Thursday. He was sent to jail after being produced in court. The accused was preparing for competitive exams.
