Aligarh Development Authority (ADA) will carry out planned development in 407 villages falling within eight kilometers of the city under Master Plan-2031. People of these villages will have to get the map approved before constructing their buildings as per the land use.

For the first time, the master plan was implemented between 1980 and 2001. It was named Master Plan-2001. It included Aligarh Nagar Palika (at that time, the Municipal Corporation was not formed) along with 203 villages within the radius of eight kilometers of the city and Harduaganj Nagar Panchayat. The second master plan was implemented between 2001 and 2021. Now the third master plan 2031 has been implemented. Meanwhile, in the three master plans implemented, due to the interference of the District Panchayat, the ADA was not able to get many works done in these villages, but this time this problem has been resolved.

ADA Vice President Apoorva Dubey said that for the first time 407 villages have been planned in the master plan. Planned development will be possible here. Now the people here will have to get the map of the building etc. approved according to the land use. She said that till now on Ramghat Road, one strip was commercial (towards the ADA office) and the other was residential (towards OLF).

Due to this, maps for opposite land use could not be approved from ADA. In the past, many illegal constructions were done due to this reason. Now, due to mixed land use in the new master plan, maps of old constructions will also be approved. For the bazaar street plan, a minimum 24 meter wide road is allowed, but in Aligarh, 18 meter wide road has been allowed.
