There is resentment against the proposal to keep ad-hoc teachers posted in non-government aided secondary schools of Uttar Pradesh on honorarium of 25 to 30 thousand rupees. They protested and said that we do not want alms but respect. This decision of the state government is not right.
The Secondary Ad-hoc Teachers’ Struggle Committee has said on the proposal in the cabinet that such a thing was not expected from the Chief Minister. In the school where all of us teachers have worked with respect for 25 to 30 years, we are being asked to work in the same school on a remuneration of 25 and 30 thousand rupees. Whereas the salary of a peon is more than this. This has caused a lot of anger among ad-hoc teachers.
Committee chairman Ravindra Singh issued a statement on Wednesday saying that the proposal which was agreed upon with the higher officials in the 53-day request was not placed in the cabinet. This proposal is different from that. It is not acceptable. State patron Ramesh Singh said that all ad-hoc teachers who are BJP officials, workers and members will come to the BJP office in Lucknow and submit their resignation to the state president.
State Vice President Anil Singh Rana said that the cabinet has said that the honorarium of ad-hoc teachers will go to the manager’s account, this will increase exploitation of teachers. State General Secretary Sushil Shukla said that the government should reconsider this decision.
It is worth noting that in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, the policy of keeping teachers on honorarium in aided secondary schools was given the green signal. Also, consent was given to accommodate 2254 ad-hoc teachers on honorarium of 25 to 30 thousand rupees.
