Change in weather has increased the risk of adeno virus (eye conjunctivitis). This is such a virus, due to which the eyes become red and itchy, there is a problem of burning sensation. In medical language it is called viral conjunctivitis. Everyday patients suffering from this are reaching BHU Hospital and other hospitals.

These days the number of patients taking the problem of conjunctivitis has increased in the OPD of the Ophthalmology Department of the Divisional Hospital. Children and adults all are falling prey to it. BHU Ophthalmology Department’s physician Dr. Deepak Mishra says that out of more than 200 patients in OPD, more than 40 people are suffering from conjunctivitis. It is a contagious virus. This also includes an average of ten children. Last week only 10-20 patients were found suffering from it, but the number is increasing. The infectivity of adenovirus is high. If someone in the house is infected, then at least three to four people can be affected.
What to do
If the eyes are red, seek medical advice immediately.
On their advice, put the medicines regularly in the eyes.
If you have conjunctivitis, wear glasses.
