Afganistan: On Sunday (January 15) in Afghanistan, some unknown gunmen shot dead former Afghan parliamentarian Mursal Nabizada and his bodyguard. Kabul police has said that they are investigating the matter.
Mursal, who was a parliamentarian before the Taliban took power in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, did not leave Afghanistan after the transfer of military power. In an official statement, the police said that they have started investigating the matter seriously and they will give severe punishment to the culprits.

What did the fellow MP say?
Expressing displeasure over her death, former MP Maryam Soli Mankhi tweeted that Mursal was the bravest daughter of Afghanistan. He tweeted that he was deeply shocked to hear about the tragic murder of his friend and colleague MP.
Mursal said that she was a fearless woman and spoke openly on the atrocities being committed by Pakistan in Afghanistan. He said that his departure is a big blow to our country and we will always miss him.

According to the police, Mursal was murdered by unknown people and they are probing the matter. Afghanistan 32-year-old Nabizada is from the eastern province of Nangarhar in Afghanistan, she became a parliamentarian for the first time in 2018.
Expressing grief over Mursel’s murder, Member of the EU Parliament Hannah Neumann tweeted that she was angry because of the murder and wanted the world to know about it. Targeting the Taliban government, she said that Mursal was killed in the dark of night but the Taliban created their system of gender apartheid in broad daylight.
