What is the difference between the two?
Indian Railways has ICF and LHB coaches. The blue boxes are ICF while the red boxes are LHB. There is a huge difference between them. In India, you will see blue colored bogies in express trains, while red coaches are used in Rajdhani and superfast premium trains. Red bins are safer than blue bins. The red compartments are made with antitelescopic design. In such a situation, they do not collide with each other and do not fall off the track easily. Not only this, they do not climb over a bogie in case of a collision. These coaches are installed in trains running at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
The blue one is a bit risky
If we talk about the blue coach, it is manufactured in Chennai. It is made from iron. Air brake is used in this. Its maintenance costs more. It has less seating capacity and causes more damage in case of an accident. Its life span is twenty-five years. After this it is removed from service while the red coach is used for thirty years.
