The health department woke up after a fire broke out due to short circuit in the main electrical panel box in the OPD of Hathras District Hospital. On January 8, a fire broke out in the main electrical panel box outside room number four in the OPD of Bagla District Hospital. During this period, hundreds of patients were present in the OPD. People somehow saved their lives by coming out of the OPD. The fire was brought under control by switching off the power line.

The fire alarm system installed at a cost of Rs 1.84 crore to deal with fire incidents in the district hospital did not work. Despite the fire, no alarm was raised. After this incident, the hospital administration woke up and CMS Dr. Suryaprakash has written a letter to the executing organization and instructed them to get the fire alarm system repaired. Here, to deal with the emergency situation in the district hospital, fire extinguishing systems have been installed in the OPD of the district hospital.
