The girl’s family demanded Rs 2 lakh
Let us tell you that as soon as the groom reached the mandap after the varmala to get married, the girl’s family stopped his way and said that this marriage cannot take place. The boy and the groom were surprised to hear this. Then the boy’s family asked why this marriage would not take place. Then the girl’s side demanded Rs 2 lakh from him and said give the money and then the marriage will happen. Not only this, the girl’s family kept the groom and the groom’s father hostage for four days.
The groom complained about his stay
The next day after the incident, people from both sides held a panchayat regarding the matter. But even there the matter was not resolved, so the boy gave a written application at Bariyarpur police station. After this the police entered. He told in the application given that he was to be married to a girl resident of Bariyarpur police station area on 18th November. When he reached the girl’s house and the varmala ceremony was completed, the girl’s family refused to marry and demanded Rs 2 lakh. Also kept me and my father hostage.
Then got married in the temple
Bariyarpur police station chief Chandni Kumari Sanwaria told Local 18 that the groom and his father, who were held hostage in Rajapakad village, were freed. Then, after convincing both the parties, both of them got married with Rajamandi in a temple of the village in the presence of villagers and police.
