In Madhya Pradesh, the area has decreased by 4.15 lakh hectares, while in Punjab, sowing has decreased by 0.18 lakh and in Haryana by 0.11 lakh hectares. The area under wheat has also decreased in Jharkhand, Himachal, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Karnataka. There are some states in which the area under wheat sowing has also increased. The area under wheat in Rajasthan has increased by 2.52 lakh hectares as compared to last year. The area has increased by 1.28 lakh hectare in Maharashtra, 1.28 lakh hectare in Bihar and 0.52 lakh hectare in Chhattisgarh. Apart from this, the area has also increased in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Assam.

Sowing area of ​​coarse grains also increased

The central government is promoting coarse grain production this year. The area under coarse cereals in the country has increased by 2.33 lakh hectare as compared to last year. Last year till January 27, coarse grains were sown in 49.57 lakh hectares in the country. This time it has increased to 51.90 lakh hectares. Although sowing is still going on. Increase in area has been registered in Rajasthan, Telangana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Haryana, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab.

Record increase in oilseed crops

The trend of farmers in the country has increased towards oilseed crops. Till January 27 last year, oilseed crops were sown in 100.50 lakh hectares in the country. This year it has increased to 108.34 lakh hectare. In Rajasthan, the maximum increase has been recorded in about 4.5 lakh hectares. Madhya Pradesh is on the second number. Here the area has increased by 2.57 lakh hectares. An increase has also been registered in many other states. At the same time, the area under paddy in Rabi season has increased by 9.86 lakh hectares this year as compared to last year. It was 23.64 lakh hectares last year, which has now increased to 33.49 lakh hectares. The maximum increase in 7.78 lakh hectares has been recorded in Telangana.
