Gujarat Businessman Lost Rs 2.69 Crores: A strange case has come to light from Ahmedabad. Here a case of extortion of more than Rs 2 crore has come to light with a businessman. The police officer said, a businessman from Gujarat lost Rs 2.69 crore by falling into the trap of ‘sextortion’. According to the information received from the police, the victim Akshay runs an energy company.
The victim, who runs the company, received a call from a woman on August 8 last year. The woman told that her name is Riya Sharma and she lives in Morbi. Later, he convinced her to take off her clothes during the video call and then suddenly cut the call. After this, the woman demanded Rs 50,000 from the victim. The woman threatened that if she did not do so, she would make her nude video clip viral.
kept giving money till 15 december
A few days later, the victim businessman received a call from a person who claimed that he was Inspector Guddu Sharma of Delhi Police. Talking about having the video clip with him, he demanded Rs 3 lakh. The officer said that on August 14, another person calling himself as an employee of Delhi Police Cyber Cell called. He demanded Rs 80.97 lakh claiming that the woman had attempted suicide. Later, the victim received a call from a fake CBI officer, who demanded Rs 8.50 lakh to settle the case after the woman’s mother claimed to have contacted the central probe agency.
According to the official, he kept giving money till 15 December. After this, he received a fake order of the Delhi High Court, in which it was said that the matter was closed. After this he got suspicious. The FIR has been registered under sections 387 (extortion), 170 (impersonating as public servant), 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said.
