To control the increasing crowd of visitors, AIIMS Delhi has started a new visitor management system, facial recognition. Actually, a pilot project has been started in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. At present this system has been started in Mother and Child Block. The purpose of this is to comply with the increased emphasis on security and visiting hours. With this, it is expected that there will be a ban on unnecessary visitors to important places like operation theater and ICU.

Dr. (Professor) M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS New Delhi, said that the integration of facial recognition system and visitor management system will increase the safety of our patients and staff. Our aim is to promote security using technology. This will not affect the quality of treatment given to patients.
Security will increase
Dr. (Professor) Rima Dada, Media Cell Head, AIIMS, said that this pilot project is an example of our progressive approach, which will take health security to new standards. Earlier its absence was felt. We are improving visitor management by using state-of-the-art technology.
Special features of the pilot project
Automatic Entry Control: Flap barriers controlled by facial recognition will be used, which will strictly prevent the entry of unnecessary people in restricted areas.
Registration of patients: This system will be applicable for visitors. In this, visitors will have to register in the facial recognition system. However, there will be complete exemption for all patients, emergency or serious cases.
Digital Visitor Management: Visitors coming to the hospital will be able to authenticate their identity through facial recognition system. Apart from this, the hospital will also have an app through which they will be able to register.
Visitors will get code: Visitors coming to the hospital will have to show identity card issued by the government. After this they will be able to register with the help of facial recognition system, from which they will get the code. This will help them in getting entry.
