Air India Flight Intercepted by RAF Fighter: In the last three-four days, about 20 planes have faced the threat of being blown up by mid-air bombs. In view of security, these planes had to change their routes and land at different places. This trend continued on Thursday, October 17 also. An Air India flight going from Mumbai to London received a bomb threat. After receiving the bomb threat, Britain took immediate action and sent fighter planes into the sky.

According to the information, as soon as the danger signal was seen on the passenger plane, the Royal Air Force (RAF) sent its ‘Typhoon’ fighter plane to intercept the plane. Airline officials informed that despite the bomb threat, the plane landed safely in London.

RAF Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon sent to help

According to the report of news agency PTI, a Royal Air Force spokesperson said, “We can confirm that ‘RAF Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon’ fighter aircraft from RAF Coningsby were sent this afternoon to investigate an aircraft.” The spokesperson further said that the aircraft was landed safely without any untoward incident and was then allowed to proceed to its original destination as per Civil Air Traffic Control guidelines.”

This Air India plane landed safely at London’s Heathrow Airport. After this incident, the British civil administration has taken the situation under control.

People scared of sonic boom

During this incident, a loud sound was heard in the East Anglia region of England, hearing which people got scared. Norfolk Police clarified, “The loud sound heard by residents of the county was a ‘sonic boom’ caused by an RAF fighter aircraft, which is not indicative of an explosion.” Now the matter is being investigated and further action is being taken by the civil authority. Air India and the British administration have given priority to the safety of passengers.
