Himanta Biswa Sarma government of Assam canceled Muslim marriage and divorce. All Muslim organizations including AIUDF are opposing this step of the Assam government. AIUDF MLA Ashraful Hussain told Himanta Biswa Sarma that the BJP government is bringing all these tools to target Muslims. He claimed that Muslims are in danger in Assam.
Speaking to news agency ANI, AIUDF leader Ashraful Hussain said, we had moved an adjournment motion against the cabinet’s decision to repeal the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Registration Act, 1935, but the Speaker did not allow us. The Assembly Speaker switched off our camera and speaker. He allowed only Himanta Biswa Sarma to give speech in Hindi. We wanted to convey the pain of Muslims. By repealing this law, they (BJP) are trying to destroy Muslim Personal Law because they believe in ‘Manuvad’.

AIUDF MLA called Himanta Biswa Sarma a dictator. He said, BJP government is bringing all these tools to target Muslims. By removing these laws, these people want to eliminate the rights of Muslims. This is a threat to democracy. BJP wants to remove people from across the country. This BJP wants to remove the minorities first. Then we will catch tribals and OBCs. They only believe in Manuwadi agenda. Right now Muslim personal law has been attacked in Assam. This will happen in the entire country. We Muslims are in danger in Assam.

If this continues, dictatorship will be implemented in Assam. So this will be implemented in the entire country. Himanta Biswa Sarma will be known as a dictator. Himanta Biswa Sarma, being the CM of Assam, is harming the Muslims, this is against democracy.
