SP President Akhilesh Yadav has rejected the resignation of former Badaun MP Salim Iqbal Sherwani. In February, Salim Sherwani resigned from the post of party general secretary, accusing the PDA of neglect in the distribution of Rajya Sabha tickets. He had also announced to take the next decision by holding a meeting of his supporters in Badaun, but it is said that during the Lok Sabha elections, former cabinet minister Shivpal Singh Yadav persuaded him. He also took his support for the SP candidate from Badaun Lok Sabha and his son Aditya Yadav.
After this, Salim Iqbal Sherwani did not formally form any organization. After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, SP has started working on strengthening its Muslim vote bank even more. According to SP sources, under this strategy, Salim Sherwani has also been assured that his respect will be taken care of in the future.
Salim Sherwani is considered to have a good influence among Muslims in Badaun and the surrounding districts. This is why the SP leadership left no stone unturned to persuade him. SP President Akhilesh Yadav has rejected his resignation and said that you should continue to support the Samajwadi Party as before and withdraw your resignation in the interest of the party.
