Akshay Kumar: Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar i.e. Akshay Kumar’s career has been derailed for many years. Many of his films have proved to be back to back disasters at the box office. The actor’s three films released this year, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein, also flopped at the box office. However, there was a time when a film, no matter what genre it was, would become a hit only because of Akshay Kumar.

He is such an actor in the industry who fits in everything from action sequences, dance, romance and comedy and wins the hearts of the audience with his strong performance. Akshay had told this to his father in his childhood ,I will be a hero
Akshay Kumar is one of the biggest stars of the Indian cinema industry who draws audiences to the theatres with his powerful performances. Although some of his films have flopped, he has never shied away from working hard. Once when he was in school, his father got angry and raised his hand on Akshay Kumar, but he stopped and explained to Akshay, “Do something, study something. What will you do in the future?” To this Akshay replied to his father, “I will become a hero” and indeed he proved his father’s words to be true.

Went to Bangkok to take karate training
In an interview, Akshay Kumar revealed that he often got low marks in school. Although he had the ability to stand out from the crowd from a young age, he was always interested in sports and played everything from volleyball to cricket. But, his father always reminded him to focus on his studies and score good marks. The Khiladi actor was more interested in Karate so he convinced his father and with great difficulty he was sent to Bangkok for training. In Bangkok, he trained in Karate for five years. Later, he worked in several major cities and countries and reportedly, also tried his hand at working in Kundan Jewellery in Delhi.

Worked in 150 films in a career of 30 years
Akshay started teaching martial arts to children in Mumbai and earned around Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per month. During this time he got a modelling offer and soon he got a cheque of Rs 21,000 for a day for a photoshoot. Eventually, after some ups and downs, his career took off. His discipline in life and his dedication towards his art made him successful. In his career spanning almost 30 years, Akshay Kumar worked in about 150 films and also won many awards. He got the name Khiladi Kumar due to his association with the superhit Khiladi franchise.
