The new decision of Yunus government of Bangladesh has increased India’s tension. Bangladesh has relaxed visa restrictions for Pakistani citizens. With the end of security clearance for Pakistani citizens, the access of agents of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI to Bangladeshi soil has also become easier.
According to India Today report, regional analysts have warned that this development is indicating increasing coordination between Bangladesh and Pakistan and its direct impact can be seen on India’s security. Defense and strategic expert retired Colonel Ajay Raina says that it has now come to light that the change of power in Bangladesh was done by America’s Deep State through Pakistan’s ISI. It is not surprising to see the terrorists imprisoned by the previous Prime Minister not only roaming free but also joining the ruling machinery.
Infiltration conspiracy in north-eastern states
Colonel Ajay Raina said, if everything goes according to their (interim government of Bangladesh and Pakistan) plans, then very soon Bangladesh will practically become East Pakistan like before.
Now fundamentalist elements have started becoming active in Bangladesh. According to media reports, there are reports of Pakistan-aligned Jamaat elements uniting in Ambarkhana, Bangladesh. From here, an attempt can allegedly be made to infiltrate into the north-eastern states of India. On the other hand, the increasing activity on the Assam-Meghalaya border in India is being monitored.
On the other hand, changes are also being seen in Bangladesh administration. Hindu and Awami League supported officers are being shown the way out, so that space can be made for officers associated with Jamaat. The ideological changes taking place in the Bangladesh administration under the new regime have also put the secular and democratic principles in danger.
Why is there increasing concern for India?
According to experts, relaxation in visa provisions for Pakistani citizens has created a double threat for India. This will not only lead to greater intelligence and security cooperation between Islamabad and Dhaka, its main objective is to destabilize India. Secondly, the North-Eastern states, especially Assam, may become hotspots for infiltration and radicalization activities aimed at creating internal unrest.
Security agencies on alert
Indian security agencies are constantly monitoring the changes taking place in Bangladesh and are on alert. Experts believe that the increasing coordination between Bangladesh and Pakistan seems to be a strategic challenge for India.
