social discrimination
Sometimes, minority students may face discrimination outside their community, which can negatively impact their educational journey.

limited number of seats
While minority quota is beneficial, the limited number of seats can also be a problem. If more students apply, the selection process becomes tougher.

This is how it started
AMU was founded in 1920 by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was born in 1817 in the Saadat (Syed) family of Delhi. At the age of 24, Syed Ahmed became a sub-judge in Mainpuri. It was at this time that he felt the need for a separate educational institution for the Muslim community. He formed the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College Fund Committee in May 1872. The committee started the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College in 1877.

During this period, the demand for a Muslim university in Aligarh intensified. After this the Muslim University Association was established. In 1920, with the help of the British Government, the committee established this university by making the Aligarh Muslim University Act. By dissolving all the previously formed committees, a new committee was formed in the name of Aligarh Muslim University. The entire property and rights were handed over to him.
