The bail of a US-based NRI professor accused of blackmailing him by threatening to make his obscene video chat viral after they befriended him on social media has been rejected. The bail has been rejected by the court of ADJ-3 Rajesh Bhardwaj.

In this case, there is an allegation of extorting Rs 1.30 lakh and demanding more. In this case, on the complaint sent to the SSP through the embassy on February 26, a case was registered in Rorawar.

According to Prosecution Advocate ADGC JP Rajput, Rishabh Sharma, a resident of Roravar Rampyari Puram, is an accused in the case filed on behalf of the professor, which alleges that the Indian-origin professor is working in a university in Washington DC (USA). He also briefly studied in a Gurukul in Vrindavan as a celibate from 2003-2006.

Rishabh Sharma befriended the professor in 2020 by calling himself an astrologer through social media. Meanwhile, after discussing intimate matters, all the chats were compiled and through those chats money was collected and further demands were made. After the trial, the professor himself came here and got his statement recorded. In this case, a bail application was filed on behalf of Rishabh, who was sent to jail by the police. The bail application has been rejected by the court.
