Two daughters of a woman sitting outside the sub registrarâs office for five years to protect her share of land from being sold, drank poison at the sub registrarâs office when the land was sold by Baba. This worsened the condition of both the girls. Due to the incident, the hands and feet of the police and the administration also swelled. In a hurry, both the girls were taken to the CHC. From where referred to JN Medical College.
Rahisan Begum wife Gulshan, a resident of Dhansari village of Atrauli tehsil, told that her father-in-law had got married twice. The first wife has Gulshan and another brother. The other also has two sons. It is alleged that the father-in-law and step-mother-in-law have not given even an inch of their share of land to the husband. Father-in-law has sold four bighas of land and a plot of 200 yards. The remaining 18 bighas of land have not been given even a share and are in the mood to sell the land. For the last five years, Rahisan used to come and sit in the tin shed built in the registry office every day to ensure that her father-in-law did not sell the land.
On Friday, the father-in-law gave the deed of 100 square yards of land to some person. It is alleged that Rahisan created a lot of ruckus that day, but the deed was not stopped. On Monday, Rahisan along with her husband Gulshan and three daughters Rahnuma, Kahakshan and Mantasha reached the sub-registrarâs office and started demanding cancellation of the deed. Angered by not getting any satisfactory reply from the registry office, Rahnuma and Kahkshan consumed poison. This worsened the condition of both. Naib Tehsildar Surendra Gautam and Kotwali police reached the spot on the information of the incident and both the girls were brought to the CHC. Seeing the serious condition, he was referred to JN Medical College.
Amar Ujala raised the issue
The issue of three women, including Rahisan, who had been guarding the Tehsil sub-registrarâs office for five years to save land, was raised vigorously. Even after this information, the matter could not be settled by the administration and the sub-registrarâs office.
The deed in the registry office did not happen throughout the day
After the incident, the staff of the sub-registrarâs office came out after locking it and the office remained locked throughout the day. Because of this, there were no banamas for the whole day on Monday.
If there is land in the name of a person, we cannot stop him from getting the deed. The relatives should have taken the support of the competent court for this. The girls had entered the office after drinking poison. The deed was done on Friday, the process takes three hours. The relatives could come and protest at the same time. â Chetendra Singh, Sub Registrar
