A serious accident was averted on Monday evening at Gandhipark Roadways bus stand in Aligarh metropolis. During this, the bus of Pital Nagri Depot went uncontrolled and entered two shops near the bus stand and damaged many vehicles including cars, scooties and bikes parked there. During this there was panic among the passengers. Somehow the bus could be controlled. Meanwhile, the driver-operator fled from the spot.
The event is at 5 pm. The roadways bus of Pital Nagri Depot left for the destination from the back gate of Gandhipark bus stand. As soon as the bus came out of the stand, the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle. On this, the bus uncontrollably entered a food shop, damaging a car, a bike, a scooty and an e-rickshaw parked outside the stand.
It is a matter of pride that only tinsheds etc. were damaged here. Shopkeepers and customers narrowly escaped becoming victims of the accident. Meanwhile, when the driver reversed the bus, the bus entered another shop on the other side. As the bus went out of control, there was panic and people ran hither and thither to save their lives. Somehow the bus could be controlled.
During this, the driver-operator got down from the bus and ran away fearing any untoward incident. The area police reached and made the bus stand inside the bus stand. According to the roadways officials, the accident happened due to a sudden fault in the bus. It is a matter of pride that there was no significant loss of life or property in this accident.
