The Shekhar Saraf Memorial Aligarh Premier League started on 28 April. In which Maheshwari Super Kings started with a win. The inaugural match was played between Maheshwari Super Kings and Sahara Aligarh on the ground of Aligarh Sports Association located in Mahuakheda.
Super Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Sahara Aligarh team was reduced to 82 runs in 16.5 overs. Batsman Dalton Saraswat scored 26 runs and Ramu Yadav scored 20 runs. Super Kings bowlers Vikrant Pratap Singh, Aksha Singhal, Prashant Sharma and Himanshu Baghel took two wickets each. In reply, the Super Kings team scored 86 runs in 14.3 overs and won the match by five wickets. Pawan Kumar scored 28 runs and Naman Sharma scored 16 runs. Aligarh bowler Ankur Chaudhary took two wickets.
Yogendra Pal Singh Bunty presented the Man of the Match award to Pawan Kumar. On this occasion, Shekhar Saraf Memorial Hospital Director Sumit Saraf, Maheshwari Super Kings owner Sanjay Maheshwari, Abdul Wahab, Arjun Singh Fakira, Sonu Lefty etc. were present. Before this, chief guest former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar introduced himself to the players. He encouraged all the players.

Praveen, who came to unveil the trophy, saw Rinku’s photo kept under the table, on which he objected and said that Rinku Singh is the pride of Aligarh. His photo should not be placed below. After this he inspected the wicket. Before the inauguration, he played two balls and also bowled two balls to batsman Sumit Saraf. Praveen Kumar encouraged the players and said, play well and make your family proud.
