Aligarh city was waterlogged due to rain for two days. Roads were submerged. There was no drainage from many areas till late evening. After heavy rain in the morning of 2nd March, the coldness increased due to cold winds. The sun came out in the afternoon. It became cloudy again in the evening. According to the Meteorological Department, it will be cloudy on March 3 also, there is a possibility of rain.
It started raining heavily around 8:30 in the morning. Due to light and heavy rain for about two hours, there was waterlogging in many areas. People faced problems due to waterlogging in many low-lying areas including Ramghat Road. Once again the reality of the Municipal Corporation’s Smart City project and drain cleaning campaign came to light. Along with waterlogging, pedestrians and drivers had to face problems due to mud and dirt rising on the road. School children also reached their schools drenched due to papers.
Students got stuck in the traffic jam caused by waterlogging. There is waterlogging on Ramghat Road, Meenakshi Bridge, Center Point, Station Road, Shyam Nagar, Chharra Adda Bridge, Surendra Nagar, Ramesh Bihar, Swarn Jayanti Nagar, Naurangabad, Mamu Bhanja, Maris Road, Kela Nagar, Aamir Nisha, Dodpur, Medical Road. Went. Due to this, many e-rickshaws, scooties and bikes stopped on the way. Due to which people had to be pushed into the vehicles.
Water entered houses, people worried
Rain water entered houses and shops in the low-lying areas of the city. Due to which people faced problems. Mamu Bhanja, Achaltal, Rasalganj, Sarai Rehman, Barhadwari, Raghuveerpuri, Shahjamal, Delhigate, Agra Road, Sasnigate, Mahendra Nagar, Bank Colony, Khirnigate, Chharra Adda Pul, Gurudwara Road, Surendra Nagar, Vishnupuri, Ravana Tila, Govind Nagar, Devi Water entered houses at many places including Nagla, Etah Chungi, Vikas Nagar, Chandaniya, Nagla Tikona, Mansarovar, Gyansarovar, Sau Foota Road, Jamalpur, PAC, ADA Colony. Due to which people faced a lot of trouble. In these areas two wheelers stopped midway. The scooter and car were filled with water. Many people were seen pulling vehicles. There was waterlogging in many areas till late evening.
