Allegation of raising slogans of Palestine Zindabad during Diwali celebration in Jamia, fierce fight between two groups


Jamia University Clash During Diwali Celebration: There was a clash and fight between two groups of students in a program organized on the occasion of Diwali in Jamia University, Delhi. The clash took place near Gate No. 7 of the campus, causing chaos during the festival.

Diwali celebrations were held at Jamia Millia Islamia, where Rashtriya Kala Manch organized the program ‘Jyotirmay 2024’. Many cultural programs including music, rangoli competition and lighting of thousands of lamps were organised. It is alleged that Muslim students opposed the ceremony, leading to protests and raising Islamic slogans. After which the students divided into two groups and it is alleged that a fight took place. There is still a situation of tension.

ABVP accused Muslim students

ABVP alleges that some Muslim students not only trampled diyas and rangoli with their feet but also raised slogans of “Palestine Zindabad” and “Allah Hu Akbar” to disturb the peace by reaching the Hindu program. In fact, during the Diwali holidays, Before leaving, the students decorated the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia with colorful rangolis and lit innumerable lamps as a mark of Diwali celebration on 22 October.

‘Islamic slogans raised to disrupt the program’

The event was jointly organized by the student group and Rashtriya Kala Manch and named the event ‘Jyotirmay 2024’, the aim of which was to organize a cultural gathering with music, rangoli competition and lighting of thousands of lamps. It is alleged that the atmosphere of the festival was spoiled when Muslim students protested against the festival and raised Islamic slogans.
