Ingredients to make Potato Bharta
Potato – 1/2 kg
Cumin – 1 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Dry mango – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Green chili – 2-3
Green coriander – 2 tbsp
Dry red chili – 1-2
Whole coriander – 2 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Onion – 2
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Oil – 1/4 cup
salt – as per taste

Potato Bharta Recipe
To make potato bharta, first boil the potatoes and mash them in a utensil after removing their peels. Keep in mind that potatoes do not have to be mashed too much. After this finely chop green chillies and coriander leaves. Now take the onions and cut them into thin round slices. Now add cumin, whole coriander, dry red chili, black pepper in a pan and dry roast them on low flame. When a light aroma starts coming from the spices, turn off the gas.

Now wait for the spices to cool down. When the spices cool down, put them in a mixer and grind them coarsely. Now add the ground spices to the mashed potatoes and mix well. After this add dried mango powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt as per taste and mix. After this, add finely chopped green chilies and green coriander and mix well.

Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin and asafetida to it and fry for a few seconds. After that put onion in it. Fry the onion until its color turns golden brown. After this add potato mixture to it and mix it well with the help of a ladle. After this add the rest of the spices and fry the bharta for some time. Lastly add coriander leaves and mix. Tasty Aloo Bharta is ready. It can be eaten with roti or paratha.
