Actually, while talking to ABP Live, Amar Upadhyay has revealed a shocking incident. Amar told that he had gone to see Taj Mahal once in the year 2000 with his children and friends. Someone in the crowd recognized him as ‘Mihir’, and within minutes, he was surrounded by at least 50 people.
Amar said, “There was a long line outside the Taj Mahal, and when we were turning to leave, someone in the crowd saw me and recognized me as Mihir. Within minutes, I was escorted by police and 50-60 security personnel. The personnel surrounded me. Hundreds of people had gathered at the spot, but somehow the guards managed to take me inside the Taj Mahal complex.”
Amar further said, “There was a huge crowd and as soon as they saw me, they pushed aside all the policemen and guards and I was brutally surrounded. People were pulling and pushing me, photographers were taking pictures of me. We were there, some asked for autographs, I couldn’t understand what was happening.”
The actor further said, “Amidst all this, someone tore my T-shirt, I somehow managed to get out and saw that my clothes were torn and I was covered in nail marks, scratches and bruises. ‘
During the interview, Amar Upadhyay also went down memory lane and talked about the time when there was a lot of uproar over the demise of his character in the show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The actor said that Ekta Kapoor hyped his death so much on screen that it created an uproar there. The actor said that even his mother cried while he was sitting right next to her.
The actor further said that not only this, his death in reel life created so much uproar that e-mail servers and telephone lines crashed.
He also told how 15-20 women dressed in white had reached his house to mourn his death. Well, after seeing the actor, they were surprised and when the actor’s mother asked them why they were in white dress, the women said that they had come to mourn Mihir’s death and then they were scolded.
