A special kind of dish is available in Gopamau, a town located at a distance of about 30 kilometers from Hardoi headquarters, whose name is Chandrakala. This special kind of sweet is available only at Ramshakar’s shop in Gopamau. He tells that his shop was opened by his great grandfather 180 years ago. This sweet has been being made since then and people are liking it very much. He tells that first his great grandfather used to sit at this shop, then Baba, then his father and now he himself is running this shop.
Sweets prepared from khoya and dry fruits
Chandrakala sweets are available only at Ramshankar’s sweet shop in Gopamau, Hardoi. He tells that to prepare this sweet, flour is rolled well and khoya and dry fruits are filled in it and then it is fried in a pan. After frying, Chandrakala is dipped in sugar syrup. Along with dipping this sweet in sugar syrup, a hole is also made in it so that the sweetness of this sweet increases further.
There is a craze for this sweet
Ram Shankar tells that this Chandrakala sweet has a lot of craze in wedding processions also. He tells that if people hold functions in their homes or there is a wedding procession, then he gets orders and he prepares this sweet. The price of this sweet is Rs 280 per kg.
