Sarabjit Singh Killer News: Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, accused of the murder of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Lahore. Amir Tamba was close to Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Bike riding attackers attacked Amir Tamba in Islampura area of Lahore in Pakistan.
Died while being taken to hospital
In Lahore, Amir Sarfaraz Tamba was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died. Amir Tamba’s father’s name is Sarfaraz Javed, who was a close associate of the Lashkar founder. Sarabjit Singh was attacked by Safraj Tamba and other prisoners in the high security Lakhpat jail.
Sarabjit Singh died on the morning of 2 May 2013 in Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, after remaining unconscious for almost a week. According to the report, a group of Pakistani prisoners had attacked Sarabjit Singh with bricks and iron rods.
Sabarjeet was lodged in Pakistan jail
Sarabjit Singh, resident of Bhikhiwind, Punjab, had accidentally gone to Pakistan in an intoxicated state. He was sentenced to death for his alleged role in the 1990 bombings in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a charge repeatedly denied by the Indian government.
While Sarabjit Singh spent more than 20 years in Pakistan jail, his sister Dalbir Kaur fought a legal battle to free her brother from there. She always insisted that her brother Sarabjit Singh was innocent and had mistakenly gone to Pakistan when he was arrested. Dalbir Kaur had also gone to Pakistan to meet her brother.
