Was fond of acting since the beginning
Amit Sial was fond of acting from the very beginning. In a recent conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, he said, ‘Once I got involved in theatre, I could not keep myself away from it. I went to Delhi and did a course in Barry John’s acting school for some time. I was losing touch with studies. Seeing my condition, my parents started getting scared. Every day they would just say – son, focus on your studies, but I was not able to think of anything other than acting.’
Then he went to Australia and had to wash utensils abroad
Further in the interview, Amit told that he wanted to go to Australia for work and studies. But his father was against it. However, later his family gave him permission. Amit Sial says, ‘After reaching Australia, I got the real lesson of life. I had already planned that I would work there as well as study. As soon as I reached there, I got the job of washing dishes in a hotel. I used to get 35 dollars for 6 hours of work and food was also provided.’
I had to drive a taxi abroad
Amit further said about his struggle, ‘I never underestimated any work, neither did my family. Apart from washing utensils there, I also drove a taxi and worked as a door-to-door salesman. Living in a country like Australia, I could not take help from my parents for my living. That is why I took up the responsibility of doing all these works.’
