Once when he insisted on getting a bicycle, Harivansh Rai Bachchan beat him up.

However, father Harivansh Rai Bachchan himself used to take him for a ride in the Chowk on his bicycle. Amitabh Bachchan liked the Chowk area very much. Coming here, he used to eat chaat and namkeen from some special shops. Amitabh Bachchan’s father Harivansh Rai Bachchan was very fond of Lassi from Loknath Gali in Chowk area. Amitabh Bachchan has mentioned Allahabadi Chaat and Lassi many times in his interviews and also in Kaun Banega Crorepati.
