28th International Kolkata Film Festival: The 28th International Kolkata Film Festival is currently being organized in Kolkata, West Bengal. Big stars of Bollywood have come to participate on this occasion. The ceremony will run from 15 to 22 December, which has been inaugurated by Amitabh Bachchan, the megastar of the century. Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have been chosen as guest of honor for the show. At the same time, ‘Mardaani’ fame actress Rani Mukherjee will also attend as the chief guest for this function being held in her hometown.
These veteran stars will be involved
Megastar Amitabh inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp at the Kolkata Film Festival being held at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Veteran actress and his wife Jaya Bachchan have also attended the function along with him. Apart from these, other people from Bollywood including superstar Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha have joined.
Sourav Ganguly will also attend
West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will also grace the occasion by attending. A total of 183 films from 42 countries will be screened at 10 venues in Kolkata in the state-sponsored festival, which will continue till December 22. A special screening based on Amitabh Bachchan’s career and life so far will be telecast during the film festival. It will start with Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Abhiman’ released in 1973.
Rani Mukherjee will get special honor
At the same time, a special honor has been kept for Rani Mukherjee in the 28th edition of the Kolkata Film Festival. The actress has been invited as the guest of honor for her illustrious career of last 25 years and significant contribution to the Indian film industry. Rani Mukherjee will be honored at the function.
