On Tuesday, an inebriated youth climbed a tree and sat down in the Sugarcane Cooperative Society premises in Amroha. Within some time a crowd of people gathered. After about four hours of struggle, the police and fire brigade brought him down. During interrogation, the young man could not tell the reason for climbing the tree.

The police called his family members and handed him over. At around 11:30 am on Tuesday morning, a young man climbed a Peepal tree in the Cooperative Sugarcane Society premises located on Joya Road in Dehat police station area and started making noise. After some time a crowd of people gathered. Committee officers and employees also gathered.

Dehat police station inspector Rajesh Kumar Tiwari reached the spot with the police. After some time the fire brigade team also reached. Before this the young man asked for water and gram from the tree itself. The policemen had to fulfill his demand. The officers brought the young man down after a struggle of four hours.

During interrogation, the youth revealed his name as Dharmendra Singh, resident of Nagina, district Bijnor. He is survived by his wife and two children. He drives an e-rickshaw in Haridwar. He had come to Nagina a few days ago. After consuming cannabis on Tuesday morning, he came to Amroha.

He climbed the tree while intoxicated. CO Abhishek Kumar said that Dharmendra Singh’s family members have been called and he has been handed over to them. No legal action has been taken in the matter.
