She told that she has been a victim of sexual harassment at the hands of men and women in both Bollywood and South film industry. When asked if she has faced casting couch or harassment in her journey, Amyra told IANS, “To be honest, I haven’t faced casting couch in South or Bollywood. But yes, I have faced casting couch in both the industries. I’ve faced my share of harassment. I don’t have the guts to name them because they are powerful people – men and women who made sure I felt helpless.”
She said, until I feel safe, I will not point fingers. They know exactly who they are and what they have done. What I would say for now is that they better stop their discriminatory ways because there is definitely a wave going on. Change is coming and their position will not save them.”

Citing an incident, Amyra said, “I saw an actor clinging to me badly during a shot in a song and whispering in my ear that he was very happy that I was in the film with him. Pushed him away from me and refused to talk to him again, he made my experience miserable.
He said, “My director harassed me a lot about it. I was constantly called early on the set, had to wait for hours and hours for my shot. I was asked to shoot for 18 hours a day, I Used to sleep for 4 hours – 5 hours if I was lucky.”
The actress had to apologize
Amyra told that after all this she finally had to apologize to the actor. She said, “Above all, I was asked by the producer to apologize to the actor for my behavior as I had been ignoring him.
