Today is the wedding of Anant Ambani, the younger son of India and Asia’s richest man and Reliance Group owner Mukesh Ambani and Radhika Merchant. While on one hand the wedding of Anant and Radhika is being discussed all over the world, on the other hand, many questions are being raised on social media about Anant Ambani’s private zoo. Now the question is whether any person can open his own private zoo and what are the rules regarding this.

Private zoo

The pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani and Radhika was held in Jamnagar. People from all over the world had come there. Now the question is whether the zoo located in Jamnagar is the private zoo of Reliance Group. Let us tell you that a few months ago, Reliance Group had announced a huge project named ‘Vantara’ in Jamnagar, Gujarat, whose objective was said to be the care and protection of wild animals. The head of this project is Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani. Let us tell you that elephants and other animals are being kept in this private zoo.

Reliance Group’s Zoo

Let us tell you that a petition was also filed regarding Reliance Group’s private zoo. But today everyone just wants to know whether a person can open a private zoo. In a conversation with BBC, former IFS officer Brajraj Sharma said that private zoo is not a new plan in India. He said that private zoos already exist in India. The Jamshedpur-based zoo associated with the Tata Group is an example of this. Let us tell you that in India, to open or run any kind of zoo, it is necessary to get recognition from the Central Zoo Authority. After getting this recognition, zoos have to run under the zoo recognition rules amended in the year 2009. If a person does not run the zoo as per the prescribed rules, then the recognition is cancelled. To check this, officials of the Central Zoo Authority regularly inspect all zoos.

Let us tell you that Reliance Group had built a facility of three thousand acres in Jamnagar, a large area of which is for elephants. More than 200 elephants will be kept in this center built specifically for elephants. Not only this, more than 500 trained employees have been employed to take care of these elephants. These include animal doctors, biologists, pathologists and nutritionists etc.
