Mehndi ceremony was held in Antilia on 10 July. In which Mehndi artist Veena Nagda applied mehndi to the bride-to-be.
What customs will the wedding be like?
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding will be according to traditional Vedic Hindu rituals. Both Anant and Radhika belong to a Gujarati family, so their wedding will have Gujarati rituals. This is the reason why Anant Radhika’s wedding started with the Mameru ritual. Mameru means the ritual that takes place at the maternal uncle’s house, i.e. maternal grandmother’s house. According to this ritual, new clothes, sweets, ivory bangles, sarees, dry fruits and jewelry come for the bride from her maternal grandmother’s house. This is the first ritual in a Gujarati wedding.
