Rajendra Prasad, director of Shri Ram Anarsa Bhandar in Malviya Marg, Hazaribagh, said that his father first started operating the Anarsa shop in Hazaribagh 25 years ago. Anarsa sweets of his shop are quite popular. People come to his shop from far and wide to taste it. Along with this, many people also get it packed and taken away. Currently the price of this sweet is Rs 300 per kg and Rs 15 per piece.

There is a special method to become Anarsa
Gopal Prasad Gupta, the operator of a shop in Khaja Gali, said that first of all the Basmati rice is washed thoroughly and ground coarsely in a mixer. Lui is prepared by mixing flour and sugar syrup in ground rice and frying it. Similarly, khoya is also roasted in sugar syrup. After that, the prepared Lui is filled with khoya, wrapped in sesame seeds and left in hot oil. Then it gets cooked in 5 minutes. Then it becomes ready for the customer.

Special importance in Hindu religion
Sanjeev, the chief priest of Shiva temple Damodih, says that according to the scriptures, Anarsa has religious significance. This sweet is very favorite of the gods. It is called Apup in Sanskrit. It is prepared by mixing sugar and white sesame seeds in rice flour. It is used in the ritual of worship and is given as donation. According to the scriptures, donating Apup or Anarsa brings immense good fortune.
