On August 3, the patience of people of Ramdayal Kuncha and Deputyganj localities in Naurangabad, Aligarh, who were troubled for water for the last four months, ran out. Angry people blocked the GT Road. Women broke pots on the road in front of the Naurangabad temple. They raised slogans of ‘Down with Municipal Corporation’. There was a heated argument between the police who came to clear the blockage and the local people. Coal MLA Anil Parashar and Additional Municipal Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Yadav, who reached the spot after receiving information, also had to face strong opposition. The ruckus continued for about two hours from eight in the morning to ten in the morning, due to which there was a blockage here. After this, the drinking water supply could be restored here late in the evening.

There is no drinking water supply in the houses of Mohalla Ramdayal Kuncha and Deputyganj of Gandhi Park area for the last four months. Due to water shortage, people have pasted posters on the walls of their houses saying ‘House for sale’. There are about 500 houses in both the areas, which are yearning for water. The patience of these people has run out.

On August 3, at 8 am, the local people blocked the GT road in front of the Naudevi temple in Naurangabad. Women broke earthen pots and raised their voice against the Municipal Corporation. Due to the people protesting on the road, a long queue of vehicles started forming on the GT road. Vehicles got stuck at the Chharra Adda bridge as well. Vehicles got stuck in the jam till Dubey ka Padav.
