Agra’s Kiravali police arrested another member of the gang selling SIM cards with fake IDs on Saturday. 25 SIM cards, 6 debit cards and PAN cards were recovered from him. The accused used to supply SIM cards to Dubai and Thailand. The police had earlier sent the gang members to jail.
Kiravali SHO Gyanendra Singh said that in April, the gang selling fake SIM cards was cracked down upon. 10 accused Shahbaz Khan, his wife Anjum, Rohit Qureshi, Shahrukh Khan, Toheed, Gautam, Durgesh, Abhishek, Bhumika, Guljana were arrested. Activated SIM cards taken on fake IDs were recovered from them. The accused used to contact SIM card sellers by putting up canopies on the road. They used to buy SIM cards from them for Rs. 500 and sell them to the gang in Delhi. After this, these SIM cards were supplied to Dubai and Thailand.
SSI Dilawar Singh is investigating the case. He said that after investigation, accused Bunty, resident of Mohalla Naya Bans, Fatehpur Sikri, was arrested. 25 SIM cards, 6 ATMs, 2 PAN cards, a driving license, bike, mobile have been recovered from him.
During police interrogation, the accused told that the gang used to supply SIM cards in Dubai through Yusuf and Hafiz. Different agents in Mathura provide SIM cards. Cyber fraud was done by calling people using these SIM cards. Online accounts were also opened.
