DDA launched anti-encroachment drive in Delhi’s Mehrauli amidst tight security. During this, the local people also protested against the campaign, but security personnel were present on the spot. Under the order of the High Court, the DDA on Friday demolished about 50 flats built in four buildings in Ghusia Colony, Mehrauli with bulldozers. Enraged by this, some people pelted stones at the police. On the other hand, the AAP leaders who came to oppose the vandalism were detained by the police. Later all were released.

DDA officials along with Dalbal reached Ghusia Colony on Friday morning. As soon as the information was received, the affected people came out of their homes. During this, he first urged the DDA officials not to sabotage. They also showed the documents of their houses to them, but the DDA officials did not listen. He told that this land is a part of Mehrauli Archaeological Park. Apart from this, the High Court has ordered to demolish the house.

After the DDA officials did not listen, people started raising slogans while standing in front of the bulldozers. During this, some leaders of AAP also came and they also started advising people to protest unitedly. Meanwhile, the police officers called in additional force and after that the police started dispersing the people. The people strongly opposed the police action and some people started pelting stones at the police.

For this reason the police used mild force. So the spirits of the people were broken and they got scattered. Earlier, the police took the AAP leaders into custody.

After the people were evicted by the police, the bulldozers of the DDA started the process of demolishing the flat. Even during this, people standing at a distance continued to raise slogans against the DDA, but they could not save their flats from demolition due to heavy police presence. In the meantime, the local people brought an order to stop the demolition from the High Court, but till then the DDA completely demolished two buildings, while demolishing parts of two other buildings. About 50 flats were built in these four buildings, which have been demolished by the DDA.
