Anurag Kashyap On Struggle Days Bollywood’s famous filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ these days. Recently the screening of the film was also held in which many celebs of B-Town participated. Alaya F starrer ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ is releasing in theaters on 3 February. Amidst all this, Anurag Kashyap recently made many shocking revelations about his past.
Anurag was thrown out of the house by his wife
In Mashable India’s The Bombay Journey series, Kashyap made many revelations about his struggle days. He told that he had become addicted to alcohol, so things had become very bad in his personal life. Anurag revealed that once his ex-wife Aarti Bajaj even threw him out of the house because of his alcohol addiction. At that time his daughter Aaliya was four years old. Anurag said that he was in depression and was struggling with his career and that is why he became an alcoholic.
Why Anurag Kashyap got addicted to alcohol
He said, “Paanch ruk gayi thi, Black Friday was stalled. Allwyn Kalicharan was shelved, another film that no one knew about was shelved. I was thrown out of Tere Naam (2003) and Kaante (2002). I was drinking and I was fighting all these battles. I was fired from projects I had written and been a part of. It was a very bad phase, and it accumulated anger with the industry, with the system.” He further said, “I locked myself in a room and started drinking. I drank heavily for a year and a half. Ex-wife Aarti threw me out of the house after being upset with my alcohol addiction.
Anurag used to sleep on the footpath by paying 6 rupees
Recalling the days of his struggle, Anurag Kashyap also told that he used to sleep in a garden at Juhu Circle in Mumbai. Many times they were chased away and then they used to come to sleep on the footpath of Versova Link Road. There people used to sleep by the line and for this they had to take 6 rupees.

Anurag Kashyap got fame in the year 2009 after the commercial and critical success of ‘Dev D’. Anurag’s last film was Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Dobara’. This film is going to be released in theaters on 3 February.
