Apple paying compensation: Some iPhone users in Canada had complained in the court about the sudden slow down of their iPhone. A case was filed against Apple regarding this. However, Apple has denied this allegation in the court. Along with this, the company has said that this matter will be closed by giving some compensation. Apple has promised to pay compensation of $14.4 million. However, the court has not yet approved it or given its final decision.
If the court approves the compensation amount, the company will pay money to every iPhone user who had filed a complaint. The company will pay 150 Canadian dollars to every user, which is around Rs 9,320 in Indian rupees. The compensation amount can be more or less according to the people.
Users had made this complaint against Apple
According to an India Today report, the group of people included in the lawsuit include those who resided in Canada (except Quebec) before December 21, 2017 and owned specific iPhone models – such as iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S. , 6S Plus, SE, 7, or 7 Plus. These users had talked about the sudden slow down of their iPhone and accused the company that Apple had done this slow down without informing them. Actually, Apple had started slowing down some of its models whose batteries are old so that they do not shut down. The company did not give clear information about this to the users on time, due to which when the affected iPhone users updated the mobile, it suddenly started working slow.
However, later Apple openly told people about this matter and limited the cost of changing the battery to $29. Let us tell you, Apple has also made a similar settlement in the US and every affected user will start getting $92 from this week.
