apple stopped sale of iPhone 14 14 Plus and SE 3rd Gen in eu countries

Apple has stopped the sale of its 3 iPhone models in the countries falling in the European Union. The company has removed iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone SE 3rd generation from its online store in most countries of Europe. Now these will not be available for sale even at offline stores. Due to a European Union (EU) rule, the company has been forced to take this step. Under this rule, there is a ban on selling devices with Lightning connector.

What is the new EU rule?

In 2022, the EU had decided that phones and some other gadgets sold in all its 27 countries would be required to have USB-C ports. This decision was taken to reduce electronic waste. Although Apple challenged this decision, it later backed down. Since iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone SE 3rd generation do not have a USB-C port for charging, their sale is being stopped.

Apple has been removing stock since last week

Apple has been busy removing its old stock since last week. So far it has removed these products from its stores in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and many other countries. The sale of these three iPhones has also stopped in Switzerland. Although Switzerland is not part of Europe, many of its laws are similar to those of the EU. Similarly, these phones can no longer be purchased in Northern Ireland also.

Apple will launch iPhone SE with USB-C port

There are speculations that Apple may launch iPhone SE 4th generation equipped with USB-C port in March next year. In such a situation, this iPhone can soon make a comeback in Europe and people will not have to wait long for it.
