Arunachal Pradesh Tezpur Airbase India Air Force Start Two Day Air Force Exercise After India China Clash ANN

India China Clash: ABP News team reached Tezpur airbase in Assam amidst ongoing dispute with China over LAC adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh and Air Force exercise in North-Eastern states. If there is a violation of air space from China on the Line of Control (LAC) adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh, then Sukhoi fighter jets are scrambled from this Tezpur air base.

When the team of ABP News reached Tezpur airbase on Thursday (December 15) evening, helicopter flying drill was going on there. One after the other Chinook and other helicopters were practicing night flying operation in the sky of Tezpur. It was learned that Sukhoi fighter jet had taken part in the drill during the day.

Tezpur is the only base where fighter aircraft are stationed

Tezpur is the only Indian Air Force base in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh where fighter aircraft are stationed. Apart from this, helicopters are also stationed here. After the Doklam dispute in 2017, when China’s J-20 fighter jet came very close to the LAC adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh, Sukhoi had ‘detected’ it.

After this news, China was criticized all over the world, because China claimed that J-20 is a stealth fighter jet, which no radar or aircraft of the world can detect. After this incident, China had also changed its J-20’s avionics to stealth feature and no news of J-20 was revealed for a long time.

conducting a two-day exercise

The Indian Air Force’s Eastern Command is conducting a two-day exercise (December 15-16) amid the skirmish between Indian and Chinese forces in Tawang. This exercise is being done in the air-space of all the North-Eastern states including Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The Air Force has also issued NOTAM regarding this. According to the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), this maneuver will run from 1.30 pm on Thursday (15 December) to 5.30 pm on Friday (16 December).

nothing to do with recent events

The Air Force issued a brief statement on Thursday (December 15) saying that this exercise was already decided before the Tawang incident. It has nothing to do with recent events. According to the Air Force, its purpose is the training of airmen. If the Indian Air Force currently has the maximum number of fighter jets, then it is Sukhoi. The Air Force has more than 250 Sukhoi aircraft. Recently, to make them more deadly, they have also been equipped with BrahMos missile. Under a special agreement with Russia, these Sukhoi fighter jets are manufactured in India only, which are called SU-30 MKI.
