Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has targeted the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh on the pretext of power cuts. He wrote on Twitter, ‘There are a lot of power cuts in Uttar Pradesh. Is electricity not free in Uttar Pradesh? On the contrary, electricity is very expensive in UP. Then why are there so many power cuts? Electricity is also free in Delhi and it comes 24 hours. There is no power cut. Delhi has a government of educated professional honest people.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party will launch a Bijli Khojo campaign across Uttar Pradesh from Monday. The party will also take out a lantern procession across the state on July 2. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Sunday, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that we will protest against power cuts. A number will be issued for the common people and an appeal will be made to them that for how long electricity is coming in their area, make a video and post it on social media and tag the CM and PM.
He told that the Aam Aadmi Party will also oppose the amendment in the Electricity Consumer Rights Act being brought by the Center. Under this, there is a preparation to make electricity rates expensive by up to 20 percent at night. AAP will also oppose the proposal to increase electricity rates in UP. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should learn from Kejriwal. 24 hours free electricity is being given in Delhi.
