Asaduddin Owaisi angry over BJP’s demand women who vote wearing burqa should be specially investigated in Lok Sabha Elections 2024


Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Only 2 days are left for the sixth phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections, but political parties are not desisting from making statements against each other. In this series, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted Delhi BJP. He said that the Delhi unit of BJP has told the Election Commission that there should be special investigation of women wearing burqa.

National President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Asaduddin Owaisi further said that the recent incidents in Telangana Lok Sabha Elections During the voting, the BJP candidate publicly insulted and harassed the Muslim women. Owaisi said that in every election, BJP finds some excuse or the other and harasses and targets Muslim women.

BJP is just targeting Muslim women- Owaisi

Asaduddin Owaisi further said that the Election Commission has clear rules and regulations regarding veiled women, whether they are in burqa or veil or mask, no one is allowed to vote without verification and investigation, then why did the BJP have to make such a special demand? Owaisi attacked the BJP and said that the aim of the BJP is to target Muslim women, harass them and create obstacles in their voting.

‘Women coming wearing burqa or mask should be investigated’

A delegation of MLAs Ajay Mahawar and Mohan Singh Bisht, State Secretary Kishan Sharma and lawyer Neeraj Gupta had met the CEO of Delhi on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum. In which he demanded proper verification of women voters wearing burqa to vote during the sixth phase of voting in Delhi.

Demanded to deploy adequate security personnel at polling booths

MLA Ajay Mahawar, who led the delegation, had said that those who come to vote wearing burqa or face masks should be allowed to vote only after thorough investigation. Along with this, a lady officer or a lady police officer should check their face. He said that especially in such parliamentary constituencies where the number of ‘burqa-clad’ women voters is high. A large number of women wearing burqa come to the polling stations to vote.
