Asaduddin Owaisi On Sunehri Masjid: The issue of Golden Mosque in Delhi is gaining momentum. New Delhi Municipal Council has sought opinion from the common people regarding the removal of the Golden Mosque. People have to give objections and suggestions on NDMC’s proposal till January 1.
Meanwhile, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded the government to withdraw the notification in this regard, and also accused the central government of BJP of hating Muslims and mosques.
A proposal has been made to remove the mosque situated at an intersection on the grounds of disrupting traffic nearby. According to a report by news agency PTI, NDMC has received more than 2,000 comments and suggestions regarding the demolition of the mosque.
What did AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi say?
Speaking to news agency ANI, Asaduddin Owaisi said on Friday (December 29), “…notification has been given. Regarding this we have replied to the architect of NDMC, the first thing is that this notification violates Article 25 which is the fundamental right of freedom and religion of our Constitution of India, it is also a heritage place and a Place of Worship is…”
He said, “This violates Article 29 because this article says that there should be protection of culture, it has been a part of the culture, thirdly, Section 51-1A of the Waqf Act says that the Waqf property should be acquired at the same time.” It happens when there is no other alternative or no suitable land can be found.
Owaisi said, “It is not like that and the fourth thing is that when Lutyens’ Delhi was built in 1911, when the land of the villages was acquired, the city was built leaving these mosques behind.”
Why do BJP and Modi government hate Muslims so much – Owaisi
He said, “We want to ask why the BJP and Narendra Modi government have so much hatred towards Muslims, why there is hatred towards mosques, why is there hatred towards the voice coming from mosques. That place is a roundabout, there are many such roundabouts, for example there is a Place of Worship in Nehru Place too, there is always a traffic jam there, what kind of disaster will wreak havoc there, why would you destroy the mosque? Do you want to remove it?
‘Do not disturb mosques unnecessarily’
The AIMIM chief said, “That is why we demand that the BJP government withdraw this notification and you should not disturb the mosques unnecessarily. There were so many mausoleums, now the mausoleum next to the Election Commission of India, which I have been watching for forty years, you demolished it overnight, what is it, what is the story, why is there so much hatred, this tells us that Narendra Modi The government of India hates Muslims, the mosques of Muslims, the sound that comes from the mosques of Muslims.
‘Why are you after this roundabout?’
Owaisi said, “There is no need for you to remove the Sunehri Masjid, who is suffering, how many roundabouts are there, why are you after this roundabout, nor is there so much traffic problem there, this is just harassment.” To harass, to snatch away the dignity of Muslims, such actions are being taken, which we condemn.

Let us tell you that earlier on Thursday (December 28), Asaduddin Owaisi had written a letter to the New Delhi Municipal Council office opposing the removal of the Golden Mosque. He had said that the proposal to remove the mosque should be withdrawn immediately.
