Indian Railways: Holi, the festival of colors, is very near. People living in the country’s capital Delhi and other big cities due to work are preparing to go to their home villages on Holi. In such a situation, Indian Railways has also made special arrangements in view of the huge crowd of passengers in trains. Along with operating Holi special trains, Railways has also made arrangements for additional coaches in a large number of trains so that rail travel can be made smooth and easy.
In view of the convenience of passengers, a comprehensive plan has been announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. The Railway Minister said on Friday (22 March) that the crowd of passengers in trains increases on the occasion of Holi. This type of crowd usually starts increasing 3-4 days before Holi. Due to this, a detailed plan has also been prepared by the Railways for the convenience of the passengers. Complete preparations are being made by the railway authorities for every facility of the passengers.
Facility of additional berth more than 30 lakhs
Railway Minister Vaishnav said that on the festival of Holi, Railways has made arrangements to provide more than 30 lakh additional berths for the convenience of passengers. Apart from this, during the festive season, Railways is operating 571 Holi special trains along with 1098 additional special trains. Along with all this, Railways has also made arrangements for 24×7 monitoring at the stations, keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. Also, strict security arrangements have been made at railway stations. Additional security personnel are also being deployed at the stations.
A large number of trains are operating from these cities every day.
Minister Vaishnav said that in view of the festival of Holi, special arrangements have also been made to deal with the crowd of passengers arriving at the last moment. Additional 11 unreserved rakes are also being planned from big cities like Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna etc. To deal with the extra rush of passengers from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh etc., an average of about 1,400 regular trains are being operated every day.
